Best's Wines Great Western is one of Australia’s ‘best kept’ winery secrets. Founded in 1866, they are a family-owned and operated business with some of the oldest and rarest vines in the world. Shiraz, Cabernet and Riesling are their specialties, however also produce small-parcel wines using some more unusual varietals and techniques. With three different collections and over 40+ wines in their portfolio, they are a must visit destination when travelling to our beautiful little wine village town. 

 

The Thomson family has had a multi-generational influence on our club and would be amongst our longest serving sponsors stretching over 50+ years. Best's Managing Director, Ben Thomson, continues to provide ongoing to support to our club and fundraising events by providing machinery and operational assistance for things like our annual Good Friday Rodeo set-up & pack-down, oval resurfacing and other projects. His Dad, Viv Thomson, and Grandfather, Eric Thomson, are also both Life Members having played with the club for many, many years.
